History
The founder of Compton, D.A Compton was trained as an engineer and loved electrical motor. He founded his company in 1903 and started to produce motor to grinders, machine tools, fans and drills. Compton expanded slowly but steady through the decades, but this development really took off from the end of the 1960´s.
We organize the Compton Group, and we focus and drive made Compton take a great leap forward. Compton´s vision was from the beginning to have an international company selling goods to the whole world. Since then it has been our aim to be one of the biggest global players in the market of professional metal processing plants. By acquiring many smaller companies to expand our product portfolio and presence in new markets, we are now represented in all parts of the world, with a variety of construction material processing solutions that will fit every need.

1903 --Compton machine founded in Duisburg, Germany, by Dr. Adolf Compton.
1929 --Development of lathe tools, improve the cutting speed of lathe.
1948 --Turning technology application, Improve the efficiency of processing parts.
1960 --Compton Machinery Corporation founded (now Compton Group GmbH)
1960-1980

1963 --Start of construction of a second production plant in Duisburg
1968 --Start of cooperation with mold manufacturers in Koln, Germany.

1969 --Development and start of metal construction material plants.
1971 --Concentration of the metal construction material rolling plants.
1978 --Start of series production of Compton Metal Ceilings.
1979 --Compton Metal Ceilings Unit founded.
1980-2000

1980 --Purchase of a former professional welding plant factory in Bonn, and conversion into
third production plant in Germany. (now Lindis Farne Technologies GmbH)
1985 --Development of resultant movement pressing technology.
1990 --Compton (UK) LTD., Newcastle, United Kingdom, founded.
1992 --Purchase of the Loch Lomond Co., Ltd in Perth, Australia.
1996 --Germany CMC Group (Far.east) Limited Founded in Hongkong.
1998 --Compton builds a modern production site, strategically located in Duisburg.
2000-2010

2001 --Compton's new research center begins operating in Duisburg.
The award is presented for the Germany land of ideas.
2003 --Starts operations at a plant for the ceilings production in Zhuhai, China..
2004 --100% takeover of the Loch Lomond Co., Ltd in Perth, Australia.
Establishment of a branch office in France.
2005 --Merger between Brocade Victoria GmbH and TSO machine.
2006 --Establishment of a representative office in Bangalore, India.
2007 --Advanced development of the energy saving in the metal processing technology.
2008 --Guangzhou Compton zhigao building material Co.,Ltd founded in China.
Incorporation of 2 branch offices in greater China.
2009 --A compounding production site goes in Tongeren, Belgium.
2010 --Purchase of Heyes A/S, New Jersey , U.S.A.
Opening of a sales office in Maxico.
Establishment of a regional office in Istanbul, Turkey
